About

Hollow and Sky is a space shaped by listening.

It exists for those who move through the world with attention to the inner life, to the living earth, and to the places where the two touch.

We publish poetry, prose, and visual work that emerges from experience rather than certainty. Work that is patient, grounded, and willing to remain with what is felt but not easily named.

We are drawn to writing and art that honors stillness, wonder, grief, memory, and restraint, without instruction or doctrine.

This journal is not bound to pace or season. It is guided instead by care.

We publish when the work is ready, and we hold it with intention once it arrives.

Hollow and Sky will continue to take shape slowly as a place for reading, for offering, and for quiet recognition.

A place open to those who find it, and stay.

Mission

Hollow and Sky is an open-access literary journal dedicated to publishing work shaped by attention, interiority, and engagement with the living world.

We believe literary work should be accessible to readers and writers alike. Hollow and Sky does not charge reading fees and publishes work freely online.

Submissions are read with care and without regard to publication history, credentials, or institutional affiliation. Editorial decisions are guided by the work itself and its alignment with the journal’s sensibility.

We welcome submissions from writers of all backgrounds and lived experiences.

Hollow and Sky exists to offer a quiet, attentive space for writing that listens rather than persuades; and for readers seeking work grounded in presence, restraint, and lived experience.
